June 19, 2013 at 6:06 am Our choir and dance groups recently won at the district level and earned the chance to advance to the next level of competition. On Monday, they won first place in two categories at the county level! The kids won first place in the Marakwet Folk Song competition and first place in the Marakwet Dance Competition. We are so proud of our talented kids!
The next step is the regional competition in Kitale. There is much excitement for sure!

June 11, 2013 at 3:46 pm This is a video shot by a group that took a road trip in an effort to raise awareness and funds for clean water in Makutano and other places where it is scarce. Take just a few minutes to watch the video and share! Help get the word out to reach the goal of securing $1 million dollars in donations for our village and others like us. Every single view and share counts!
We guarantee the video will bring a smile to your face--especially when you see the women and children from our programs dancing!

June 5, 2013 at 6:35 pm The testing of the bore hole for the new well began, and water poured out like this for 24 hours! There is such excitement all around for fresh, clean water! God is so good!
June 3, 2013 at 6:02 pm Ever wondered how a visit to Makutano might change your perspective? Check out Haley's story and see how God moved her and changed her in a mighty way through her experience.

Haley Clasen shared this testimony yesterday with Church at the Crossing in Indianapolis. It's a great example of how love is changing lives not just in Kenya, but in the United States as well! ...

Hooray! Christine has now been sponsored. Thank you to all the folks who stepped forward to let love change her life! Be sure to check out our sponsorship page for other children who are in need of sponsors: http://villageprojectafrica.org/sponsorship
Christine has been sponsored and love will be changing her life!
These sisters are in need of your love and sponsorship so that they can continue to attend school and live in the dormitory. $40 a month will cover sponsorship for one of these special girls!
May 22, 2013 at 7:08 am Happy Heritage Academy children! The well (borehole) drillers arrived today. Soon we will have a very deep well that will provide good, clean water for our women and children. God is good!! We are blessed people around here.
May 14, 2013 at 7:02 pm Sunday was not just a wonderful day for mothers, but also wonderful day for our children as well! We recently formed a partnership with Worldreader to provide the opportunity for our older kids to have access to eReaders that will hold more books than we could ever ship to the village. In order to get the eReaders, we first had to raise funds to pay for them. We want to give a huge thank you to the Cheers Sunday School class at Church at the Crossing who presented Margaret with a check to help fund this new program and get it well under way!

May 7, 2013 at 6:21 pm We recently had our first international (outside the US) sponsor and we're thrilled at how many have stepped forward to give hope and use their love to change lives. However, we still have plenty of children waiting outside the gate to get in. Check out the girls in our "Greatest Love for Greatest Needs" album or any of the kids hoping for your support on our website (www.villageprojectafrica.org/sponsorship) and see children whose lives you can change today!
We're looking forward to seeing the ladies at Church at the Crossing Women's Candlelight Dinner this evening! We'll have beads and bags made by our women available at our table. It's our third year participating and it's an event we always enjoy!
May 1, 2013 at 8:35 pm For those of you who haven't seen the outside of the completed cafeteria/multi-purpose building, here's a shot courtesy of our program director. This building is a wonderful blessing to the community!
April 30, 2013 at 8:16 pm A recent view of the Grace House Clinic! It's coming along! We're so excited about how God will use this in the community.

The two girls in this album are in need of sponsorship as soon as possible. They were moved into the dorms because their need was so great, but they need sponsors in order to stay there. Please contact us if you are interested in sponsoring one (or both!) of these girls! Sponsor@villageprojectafrica.org. Love can, and will, change their lives!

April 14, 2013 at 8:14 am School supplies are a precious commodity. Our kids hold onto what they are given until there is simply nothing left, as this tiny pencil can testify!
April 4, 2013 at 6:34 pm We recently had a visitor to the village who brought a gift of medicines from her local hospital. It was a wonderful gift for the village! We are looking forward to the medical missions teams that will be coming this summer to provide even more care for people in our clinic!
March 28, 2013 at 5:27 pm When families are unable to pay school fees with shillings, we welcome payments of other kinds: volunteered time, bags of rice, or firewood. One of the parents recently brought in this firewood for the school. Instead of using the logs for firewood, Davis had it cut into timber for the new classrooms. The parents are giving what little they have to build up this community, and in this case, literally!
